5 Ai Trends That Will Revolutionize Agriculture By 2025!

At the World Economic Forum (WEF), Jeff Rowe, CEO of Syngenta Group, shared 5 key AI trends that will shape the agricultural industry in 2025. He predicted that 2025 will be a milestone when AI truly revolutionizes agriculture, from the lab to the field.

5 AI trends identified by Syngenta:

• AI in Research & Development (R&D): Using machine learning models to identify new active ingredients for products, both synthetic and biological.

• AI in the field: AI-driven systems monitor and predict soil health, helping farmers map nutrients, texture, and carbon in the soil at high resolution.

• AI in the hands of farmers: GenAI-powered digital tools such as agronomic advisors help farmers make optimal crop management decisions.

• AI in pest management: Precision agriculture and data-driven solutions help apply crop protection products only in areas with pests.

• AI in supply chain management: Forecast demand, predict markets, reduce overproduction and waste, optimize logistics, and improve efficiency.

"AI and digital tools are revolutionizing farming and sustainability practices," Rowe emphasized. "Advanced monitoring systems integrate satellite imagery, drones, and soil mapping for precision crop management. Predictive analytics, powered by AI and machine learning, provide farmers with actionable insights, turning reactive actions into proactive strategies."

The global AgriTech market is growing rapidly, with a forecast of $54.17 billion by 2029. The AI market in agriculture is also expected to grow from $1.7 billion to $4.7 billion by 2028, demonstrating the enormous economic potential of these technologies.

Collaboration among stakeholders is key to reducing barriers to farmers adopting technology.
