I. GENERAL INTRODUCTION
- Toxicity group: III.
- First registered for use in Vietnam in 2008.
- Belonging to the Ryanoid insecticide group, chemical formula: C18H14BrCl2N5O2
II. MECHANISM - CHARACTERISTICS OF ACTION
- Acts by contact and ingestion.
- When in contact with plants, Chlorantraniliprole will bind to a receptor called Ryanodine - this receptor is directly related to the body's calcium operation process, the binding creates calcium leakage, leading to the insect's muscles stopping working, paralyzing and dying.
III. ADVANTAGES
- Wide spectrum of action: Chlorantraniliprole belongs to a new group of broad spectrum insecticides, effective on many types of insects belonging to the order Moths, Beetles, Flies, Termites and ticks, killing caterpillars and larvae.
- Strong permeability: For liquid products, the pesticide can penetrate deeply through the upper and lower surfaces of leaves, increasing the effectiveness of pest control.
- Long-lasting effect: Chlorantraniliprole can last long in crops, the effect can last up to 20 days. This helps reduce input costs significantly for farmers.
- Fast effect: According to practical studies from the field, pests stop biting and die after 2-3 days of exposure to the drug.
IV. TOXICITY LEVEL OF CHLORANTRANILIPROLE
- For humans: Chlorantraniliprole has low toxicity, does not cause skin irritation, but causes eye irritation when exposed, affecting health if exposed for a long time.
- For other organisms: Chlorantraniliprole has low toxicity to fish, is not toxic to birds, mammals and invertebrates in soil. However, it is especially toxic to invertebrates in water, such as shrimp.
V. NOTES WHEN USING
- Comply with the 4 correct rules when using pesticides.
- Use protective gear when spraying such as gloves, protective clothing, masks, etc.
- After spraying, clean the sprayer thoroughly, do not wash near ponds, lakes, rivers and streams.
- Spray in the direction of the wind, avoid direct contact of the drug with eyes and skin.
