1. Origin

Nitenpyram is a specialized Nicotinamide insecticide developed by the Takeda Corporation of Japan in 1989.

2. Composition

Nitenpyram has the chemical formula C11H15ClN4O2.

3. Mechanism of action

Nitenpyram belongs to group III toxicity. It has contact effect, stomach toxicity and has drainage properties. It works primarily by inhibiting the central nervous system of insects. This causes them to be be continuously stimulated, leading to paralysis and eventually rapid death.

5. Applications

• In agriculture: Nitenpyram is used to control pests, mainly short-winged brown planthoppers and long-winged brown planthoppers, whitefly, etc. on rice plants. In addition, this active ingredient also specifically treats stinging insects on vegetables and other crops.

• In veterinary medicine: Nitenpyram is used as an ingredient in anti-mite and tick medicine for dogs and cats. It is in compressed form and starts to kill within 30 minutes, with a maximum effect lasting up to 24 hours.

In addition, the active ingredient Nitenpyram can be combined with Buprofezin, Chlorfluazuron, Chromafenozide, Imidacloprid, etc. to achieve maximum effectiveness.
