Promoting climate change awareness

In the morning of April 9th, The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) in collaboration with the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) organized the National Clean Water and Sanitation Week 2024 in Ca Mau.

The theme of this year's Week is "Ensuring safe and clean water supply to adapt to climate change" with the aim of raising awareness among people about the importance of clean water and sanitation, especially in the context of severe drought and saltwater intrusion occurring in the Mekong Delta.

MARD and FAO have supported 3 million VND for each household affected by drought and saltwater intrusion in Ca Mau with the hope that this amount will help people to solve their urgent needs in life and overcome the difficulties caused by natural disasters.

This is an activity that demonstrates Vietnam's determination to implement the Ha Long Commitment with ASEAN to take early action to minimize natural disaster risks.
