The active ingredient Dinotefuran

The active ingredient Dinotefuran

1. Introduction

The active ingredient Dinotefuran is an insecticide of the neonicotinoid class developed by Mitsui Chemicals company to control harmful insects such as aphids, whiteflies, fleas, brown planthoppers, flies, white grubs, ladybugs, beetles hard, fleas, and can kill insects such as fleas, cockroaches, and flies in residential and urban areas.

2. Mechanism of action of Dinotefuran

Dinotefuran kills insects and vermin through contact and toxic effects, stimulating nicotinic acetylcholine receptors that affect synapses in the insect's central nervous system, disrupting it by inhibiting block nicotinic acetylcholine receptors.

In addition, this active ingredient is also used in veterinary medicine as flea and tick prevention for dogs and cats. It is often used in combination with Pyriproxifen or Permethrin.

Dinotefuran does not inhibit cholinesterase or interfere with sodium channels. Therefore, its mechanism of action is different from organophosphates, carbamates, and pyrethroids. Instead, it acts as a host of insect nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, affecting nicotinic acetylcholine binding differently from other neonicotinoid pesticides.

3. Effects of the active ingredient Dinotefuran on humans and animals

For man: Under normal environmental conditions using the prepared drug Dinotefuran, there will be no effects on humans. If used in excess, it can lead to skin irritation and poisoning, which can lead to death.

For domestic animals and crops:

Dinotefuran is used to control aphids, leafhoppers, and whiteflies on wheat, rice, cotton, vegetables, fruit trees, and tobacco; controls insect pests, fruit moths, beetles, and fleas better than Imidacloprid.

It also has good effects on pests such as Coleoptera, Diptera, and Lepidoptera and public pests such as cockroaches, termites, and flies. However, the drug will affect beneficial insects such as bees, so do not spray while the flowers are pollinating.

The active ingredient Dinotefuran does not affect domestic pets such as dogs and cats.
